Neal Rubin
Now in his sixth year coaching
AquaFit Masters, Neal continues to bring
enthusiasm and superior technique instruction skills to our program. Known
for his swimming accomplishments and professional expertise in teaching
short-axis
strokes, Neal continues to develop and fine-tune our swimmers' ability to learn,
train
and compete
successfully in Butterfly, Breaststroke and Individual Medley events.
A former standout age group
swimmer, Neal was a Senior National
qualifier in the 100 yard and 200 yard Breaststroke events, along with
a NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference competitor for two years.
Neal professionally coached age
group swimmers for five years and
frequently works as the Camp Apollo Aquatics Director in the summer.
In addition to coaching AquaFit Masters, Neal works as an Aquatics
Specialist & Special Event Technician for Nassau County Parks & Rec.
Graduate of Long Island
University C. W. Post campus with a degree
in
Education; New York State certified Physical Education teacher.
CPR, First Aid & AED
certifications; Nassau County certified Lifeguard; New York
State Emergency Medical Critical Care Technician certification; CPR Instructor.
Hobbies & Interests: Volunteer
firefighter, surfing, mountain biking,
computer technology, and hanging out with friends and family.
