Matt Rogers
Now in his second year coaching
with our program, Matt
provides expert guidance to our weekday morning training group,
and will be attending the ASCA World Coaches Clinic this season.
Matt has been coaching and
teaching age group, high
school and Masters swimming for more than ten years.
As the current Chaminade High School swim coach, Matt
has
produced numerous high school All-American swimmers
during his eight-year tenure. Matt has also been coaching the
Long Island Express age group team at Hofstra for five years
and the Masters summer program at Parkwood for seven years.
Matt started lifeguarding and
teaching swimming at the
Williston Park summer pool in 1998 and is now Boatswain
in the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corps. at Fields 4 and 1. He
attended Hofstra University and did his Clinical Rotation
at St. Francis Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Department.
Matt competes in all kinds of
sporting events throughout
the year including USLA lifeguard national championships,
USMS Colonies Zone & National Championships, Point Lookout
Ocean Mile Race, the Mike Kiefer Swim-Paddle-Run event, the
Mighty Hamptons Olympic Distance Triathlon, and more.
