Nancy Mancini
A "grassroots" athlete who
is a former top age group finisher
covering more than four age groups, Nancy is now in her second season
coaching Aquafitters. She participated in the Second Annual Southampton
Triathlon where the first superstars of USA Triathlon (Tinley and Moss)
were imported from California . . . participated in the very first New York
City Triathlon where you were taken by boat to the Statue of Liberty and
jumped off the island into the flotsam and jetsam of New York Harbor to
swim through swells to Battery Park where the sight line was the Twin
Towers . . . and other equally rigorous athletic endeavors like training
with the 6:00PM LIE service road cyclists before there were clip-less
pedals or 16-speed bikes, not to mention aero-bars.
Nancy has swum in New York City
pools from Williamsburg to
the Roberto Clemente facility, worked with ace swim coaches at
the Flushing YMCA and Andrew Jackson High School, and was a
member of the Queens College Swimming and Track teams during
graduate school. Nancy's diverse athletic background provides her
with extensive knowledge which she eagerly shares with her athletes.
In her spare time, Nancy
established a career as an educator of the
learning disabled in public schools in Queens and on Long Island.
