James Christie
James is in his
third year as an
AquaFit Masters coach, with a focus on
teaching proper stroke technique to our newer swim program members.
After swimming competitively in
high school, James took an extended break
from swimming, only to return many years later for fitness and competition.
His return to swimming led to a growing interest in endurance events with an
affinity for the
half iron-distance triathlon - in particular, the very challenging
REV3
course in Quassy, Connecticut, which he's conquered several times.
To date James has successfully
completed four half iron triathlons,
three half marathons, two full marathons, and one 3-mile open water swim
event. Each season brings James exciting new goals to work towards and
and new PR's achieved - excitement and enthusiasm which he shares
with the athletes he works with in our AquaFit Masters program.
James has completed the Total
Immersion freestyle workshop, is an
ASCA Level 2 certified swim coach and a
USA-Triathlon Level 1 certified
coach, along with holding CPR, AED, First Aid & Safety certifications.
He has a BA in Computer Graphics, previously worked as an ocean and
pool lifeguard, and as an AASI certified snowboard instructor. James is
currently employed by Polo Ralph Lauren as a Macintosh IT professional.
